COURSE CONTENTS (PRACTICAL)

  • Situations where a MEWP can tip
  • Precautions to be taken before using the MEWP
  • When harnesses need to be worn - high risk activities
  • Differences between Fall Restraint and Fall Arrest and which to use
  • Length of lanyards and retractable lanyards
  • Energy absorbers and low height operations
  • In the event of a fall suspension trauma - watch points
  • Identifying marks (BS EN 365:1993), Pre-use inspection, detailed inspection - recording
  • Interim inspection - severe conditions - recording
  • Examples of defects and damage harness, lanyard and connector
  • Where to anchor, designated anchor points - fall restraint or fall arrest, retractable lanyards
  • Manufacturers recommendations
