COURSE OBJECTIVES

To train personnel in the practical skills and job safety knowledge necessary for the operation of skid steer loaders to the accredited standards of ITSSAR and the ABA Workplace Transport 2012.

COURSE CONTENTS (THEORY)

  • The need to train & statutory requirements
  • Rated capacities - stability and instability
  • Operating safety code & site safety rules
  • Multi choice theory test

COURSE CONTENTS (PRACTICAL)

  • Introduction to the machine
  • Control familiarisation
  • Daily checks / refuelling / simple maintenance
  • Steering procedures (unladen and laden)
  • Load handling 
  • Travelling on site
  • Levelling / digging / cleaning up procedures
  • Vehicle loading / unloading
  • Fitting and use of attachments (w/a)
  • Practical skill tests

COURSE DOCUMENTATION

Training records and Progressive Assessment report forwarded to employer. TOP Scheme registration completed on behalf of customer.
