COURSE OBJECTIVES

To teach the relevant job safety knowledge and necessary skills essential for the use and inspection of both fixed and mobile scaffold towers. Upon successful completion of the course successful delegates shall be able to site, erect, inspect, use and dismantle mobile and fixed scaffold towers safely and efficiently.

  • The need to train & statutory requirements
  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 - Section 2, 7 & 8
  • LOLER (The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998)
  • PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998)
  • MHSWR (The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999)
  • Working at height regulations 2005
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment 1992)
  • Types / Construction / Use of scaffold towers
  • CITB video presentation "Working Safely at Heights"
  • Theory tests

COURSE CONTENTS (PRACTICAL)

  • Introduction to the machine
  • Sitting and erecting the scaffold tower
  • Inspection / fault detection and reporting
  • Operational safety
  • Dismantling and storing the scaffold tower
  • Practical skill assessments
