NOTES

If training for 1 attachment only is required it is permissible to reduce novice courses to 3.75 hours. Please note that jib attachment training does not include slinging training.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

To teach the relevant job safety knowledge and practical skills necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the fork lift truck when fitted with an attachment, such as those named above.

  • The Need to Train & Statutory Requirements
    • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 Section 2, 7 & 8
  • Rated Capacities and Stability
  • Multi Choice Theory Test
  • Types of Attachments:
    • Clamp (Barrel Clamp)
    • Lifting Tackle (Jib)

COURSE CONTENTS (PRACTICAL)

  • Introduction to the Machine / Control Familiarisation
  • Fitting / Inspecting / Removing the Attachment
  • Practical Procedures
  • Fitting, Inspecting and Safe Use
  • Practical Skill Tests
