A TRAINING company is expanding overseas from its Coventry headquarters to meet an increasing demand for its specialist services.
Train-a-Lift in Canley provides forklift training and mechanical handling equipment safety courses for operators and instructors for large and small companies.
The 15-strong firm also designs and runs courses for operators and instructors in their place of work or at their training centre in Charter Avenue. Each year they train around 5,000 people.

Large personal fine for General Manager deemed responsible for fork lift accident 17 Jun 10

news image A man has been personally fined thousands of pounds after a fork lift truck accident left a colleague with a broken leg.

The employee was just 17 at the time of the incident which caused him the devastating injury. He was working for a now bankrupt marine engineering firm and was attempting to clear the workshop of clutter.

Forklift truck drivers must be supervised and trained, says Aviva Insurance 05 Mar 10

With over 8,000 accidents in the UK every year involving forklift trucks, and around 10 resulting in fatality, Aviva is urging employers to provide adequate training and supervision for both new and experienced drivers.

Aviva is continuing its Simply Safety campaign, now in its third year, kick-starting 2010 with advice to businesses on the dangers of driving forklift trucks.
