To provide a format or procedure that when followed will ensure that all lifting operations are properly planned / executed and that the correct selection of crane(s) and lifting equipment has taken place.

    • Introduction to BS7121 (Code of practice for the safe use of cranes)
  • Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Understanding Crane Duty Charts
  • Stability of the Crane and Ground Conditions
  • Proximity Hazards
  • Berthing plans
  • Lifting Gear--Slinging and Signalling Procedures
  • Selection, Usage and Storage of Lifting Gear
  • Compiling a Site Check List
