5 Day Instructional Techniques & Methods Course

Course Summary

Learn effective instructor and examiner techniques in 5 days.

On completion of the course you will understand the role of the instructor, you will have covered principles of learning and instruction, simple task analysis, lesson types and structure.

Extensive coverage on the course includes how to create and use lesson plans, give effective demonstrations, use training aids etc. Also assessing, recording and reporting, safety as an instructor, practice lessons and ongoing assessment.

Course Objectives

To train selected delegates in the instructional methods and techniques required for the successful instruction, training and assessment of personnel on various applications and equipment for which training by a qualified instructor may be required.

The course is ideally suited for instructors required to train on pedestrian operated lift trucks, hydraulic lorry loaders, overhead cranes, slinging and manual handling.

5 x days

Accreditation, Registration and Certification

ITSSAR National Register of Accredited Instructors.

Delegate Status

Delegates attending this course should be experienced and qualified (trained and certificated) in the skills and job safety knowledge for the subjects on which they will be required to give instruction. They should also be literate and articulate and must have proven themselves to be responsible, mature and reliable employees, with the desire to instruct others.

Assessments and Monitoring

Delegates are progressively assessed in the following aspects:

  • Preparing / Presenting Classroom Lessons (using visual aids)
  • Preparing / Presenting of Demonstrations
  • Preparing / Presenting of Practical Instruction
  • Constructing / Conducting Practical Skills Tests
  • Report Writing
  • Knowledge of Instructional Methods & Techniques

All courses are monitored at random by an ITSSAR Training Advisor

Either at TAL Centre in Coventry or at the customer's premises

All TAL Staff Tutors are accredited by ITSSAR and are also fully experienced, trained, tested and certificated on the relevant machines
