About Train-A-Lift

Our Reputation

Our Company was established in the 1970’s when the founder Jim Brown became aware of the essential need for safety and efficiency in materials and mechanical handling operations within industry as a whole. He was deeply aware that in order to meet the needs of both operators and their employers, it was necessary to provide the correct standards of training.

Train-a-Lift Ltd was founded to provide this excellence and now operates the largest independent Training Centre in the United Kingdom for Accredited Lift Truck Operator and Instructor courses, and is an ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) Accredited Training Provider. www.itssar.org.uk

The Training Centre

The Centre, situated in Coventry is considered by many customers and accrediting agents as being one of the most ideal training facilities in the United Kingdom, dedicated to offering specialist Lift Truck and Instructor training.

We have access to construction and agricultural industry training facilities in the West Midlands area, and can train on all types of mechanical handling equipment.

The Centre can also provide facilities for Hiab Crane Operator safety training courses, and, based at our Centre, is Heart of England Training Ltd, our sister company which offers HGV training to Class 1 and 2.

On-Site Service

We offer Mechanical Handling Equipment safety courses, and Instructor Training on-site (at customers premises), or at other selected venues, anywhere within the UK and Channel Islands. We also provide training in Europe (including Eire) and in Asia. All we ask is that customers provide a suitable area for practical training, relevant types of machine, suitable types of load and an area for presenting theoretical training.

When undertaking training at customers' premises each Train-a-Lift Instructor effectively acts as a fully mobile training unit and is provided with all the appropriate training aids, course registers, manuals, safety codes and protective clothing.
